May 7, 1985, the European Council approved a 85/C136/01 on "technical coordination and standardization of new methods," the resolution. The resolution states that the "new approach" directive only requires that products should meet the basic health and safety requirements, other then to develop a harmonized standard to meet these basic requirements. Coordination of standards developed by the European standardization organizations, all products meet these standards can be considered as meeting the basic requirements of EU directives.
