      EPA 是美国环境保护署 (U.S Environmental Protection Agency) 的英文缩写。

      Headquartered in Washington, there are 10 local offices and more than a dozen laboratories. There are 18,000 employees in the United States, and more than half of them are engineers, scientists and policy analysts. The EPA is headed directly by the President.

      The US Environmental Protection Agency's main task is to protect human health and the natural environment. Since 1970, EPA has been working to create a clean and healthy environment for the nation.

      EPA has a leadership position in national environmental science and related research, education and assessment. EPA and other federal agencies, state and local governments and the Indian protected areas in close cooperation, in the existing environmental regulations on the basis of further development and strengthening of work. The EPA is responsible for investigating and developing national standards for various environmental programs and issuing relevant licenses, monitoring and enhanced coherence on behalf of states and departments. If the national standard is not met, the EPA may issue a level approved by other measures to assist states and localities to meet environmental standards. Similarly, the EPA offices in various locations work with other industry organizations and governments at all levels to carry out various voluntary voluntary pollution prevention programs and energy conservation efforts.
